Marija Krivačić

international gestalt therapist, conflict resolution and nonviolent communication trainer and facilitator. Her main fields of expertise are psychosocial support and peace education.

Education

• 1998. International Qualification in Gestalt Therapy - International Gestalt Therapy Program (Bertram Muller, pH, Germany) & Gestalt Studio Belgrade (Lidija Pecotic, Ph.D., Malta)
• 1988. BA in psychology (University of Belgrade).

From 1993 onwards she has participated in many international training of trainers seminars for constructive conflict resolution, NGO management, facilitation and mediation lead by experts from the International Fellowship for Reconciliation, UK, Harvard Balkan Peace Project, Charities Evaluation Services, UK, Danish Center for Conflict Resolution, and many other organizations.

Professional Activity

• 1999- : Project consultant and training supervisor "Summer School" (Association for Creative Development / Open Society Fund)
• 1999- : Project programm assistant of "Mobilizing Democratic Potential" (Olof Palme, Sweden), intended for support and strengthening different NGO in Belgrade
• 1998- : Group MOST, Executive board member. Main activities of Ms. Krivacic in Group MOST consist of program development, strategic planning, fostering communication and cooperation with local and international NGOs.
• 1998. - Program consultant and supervisor of program implementation of "Open Clubs" Project (Open Society Fund)
• 1997-1998: Program assistant on "Practicing Democracy" project (Group MOST, funded by HEKS, Switzerland) focusing on creating various mechanisms through which civic groups of active young people can develop skills for public debate and effective democratic deliberation. These mechanisms included seminars and workshops for local trainers and debating workshops for pupils, students, NGO activists, etc.
• 1996-1998: Program assistant on "Fostering Civil Society" project of Center for Antiwar Action (funded by National Endowment for Democracy, Washington). The project focused on creating mechanisms for civil society development in Yugoslavia through a series of seminars on human rights, conflict resolution strategies and NGO management for lawyers, journalists, NGO activists, etc, and on supporting local NGOs.
• 1997- : Associate program assistent of "War, Trauma and Refugee Program" at Incest Trauma Center (Belgrade).
• 1995- : Co-author and trainer/supervisor of "Art of Parenthood" program for parents (PSIHOKOD, Belgrade).
• 1993- : Member of Group MOST / Center for Antiwar Action, Belgrade. Project program assistant of "Goodwill Classroom" project (UNICEF) focusing on large-scale peace education of schoolteachers and schoolchildren through training seminars on all levels of the schooling system throughout Yugoslavia
• 1993- : Psychotherapist at the Marriage and Family Counseling Center, Belgrade
• 1992- : Co-author and trainer/supervisor of "Art of Communication" program for adults (PSIHOKOD).
• 1990-93: Ms Krivacic worked as a psycholologist in the Center for Social Work
  1990- : One of the founders of PSIHOKOD, service for psychosocial support and psychological preventive programs for children, adolescents and parents. Ms Krivacic is co-author and trainer/supervisor of "Art of Growing up" program for adolescents.

Ms. Krivacic is the co-author of 9 programs and training manuals and she has conducted more than 150 adult training seminars and about 130 workshops on various conflict resolution, nonviolent communication, psychosocial support, NGO management and civic education topics.
