ACTIVE IN JOB SEARCHING

IMPLEMENTING ORGANIZATIONS:
The project is realized by NGO Lastavica and Group Most from Belgrade, within the framework of the Employment Support for Serbia Programmefinanced by European Union and realised by European Agency for Reconstruction in co-operation with Ministry of labour, employment & social policy and nadacional agency for employment.
OBJECTIVE :
Increased level of skills, knowledge and self-esteem of long-term unemployed and groups at risk of social exclusion in the City of Belgrade.
MAIN ACTIVITIES:
Whithin the project three clubs for unemployed will be at function - placed in Belgrade downtown, Surčin municipality and Busije refugee setlement - offering four training programs and other services aimed at enhancing employability of unemployed people.
In addition, the clubs will be open each working day providing computers with Internet access, daily newspapers & magazines with job announcements, individual job search coaching & conselling with psychologiests as well as facilities for social gatherings & relaxation.
The clubs’ facilities & services are free of charge.
WHO CAN BE THE CLUB BENEFITIARY?
In order to apply for training programs candidates have to be registrated at nadacional agency for employment as long-term unemployed and need to meet one of the additional criteria:
- unemployed two years or more,
- self-supporting parents,
- women,
- refugee / displaced with recently acquired SCG citizenship
- over 45 years old.
Meeting one of the additional criteria willbe sufficient.
240 long-term unemployed people from the City of Belgrade, will be involved in the project.

training modules available at the clubs & conditions FOR WORK
The project clubs for unemployed are offering 4 training programs/modules.
beneficiaries could apply for and adattend courses within one chosen module only. The project does not alow for multi-module adattendance.
MODULE 1 |
| Computer course + training in communication skills needed for effective job search |
Computer course
Duration: 40 lessons, two meetings per week 3 lessons each, making total of 1.5 month
Content: business package of Windows, Word, Excel and Internet.
Materials: each candidate will be provided with copy of Manual.
Conditions: courses are taking place in pleasant and well equipped classrooms, one computer per trainee. Computer clusters are open daily at all three locations, with 24 hours Internet access at Lastavica and Group MOST.
Computer course is always combined with Training in communication skills needed for effective job search - keeping the same weekly schedule.
Duration: two-day training (2 x 5 hours)
Content: skill-building training designed to develop new communication competences and improve trainees' job search effectiveness. The key training topics are assertive behavior, CV writing, interview with employer and presentation skills. In addition and throughout the training, special focus will be put on trainees' self-awareness and self-esteem development. The trainees' experieces and world-wide best practice in job search will be exchaged and discussed with trainers/psychologists from Group MOST.
Method: interactive workshop approach with practical exercises, discussions and feedback that asks for active participation.
The trainees will be offered possibility of individual job search coaching & conselling with Group MOST trainers and psychologiests. |

MODULE 2 |
| Basic English course + training in communication skills needed for effective job search |
Basic English course
Duration: 52 lessons, 26 meetigs, twice a week, making total of cca 3 months
Content: according to the Oxford University Press Beginner Program
Materials: each candidate will be provided with copy of Manual.
Basic English course is always combined with Training in communication skills needed for effective job search (2 days, 5 hours per day) - keeping the same weekly schedule.
Those candidates who have completed the basic course successfully could continue learning by enrolling in the advanced English course.
ADVAnCED English course
Duration: 72 lessons, twice a week, making total of cca 4 months
Content: according to the Oxford University Press Elementary Program
Materials: each candidate will be provided with copy of Manual. |

MODULE 3 |
| Textile courses: weaving, batik, patchwork, macramé |
Textile courses will take place in two club locatios: Lastavica and Busije.
The candidates should chose at least 2 out of 4 Textile courses offered:
Basic weaving course (10 meetings, 4 hours each, twice a week)
Advanced weaving course (6 meetings, 4 hours each, twice a week)
Batik (4 meetings, 4 hours each, twice a week)
makrame (4 meetings, 4 hours each, twice a week)
Patchwork (12 meetings, 3.5 hours each, once a week, total duration 3 months)
Materials: each candidate will be provided with a raw material needed during the course. In addition, moulds, handouts and guidebooks will be provided for all candidates.
Those candidates who have completed the textile courses successfully could apply for participation in additional one-day set of Traniing courses in business planning, textile product stadardization and selling, including possibility of taking the followup individual business planning/selling coaching & conselling.
The textile courses trainees could apply for Training in communication skills needed for effective job search – according to Module 1 & 2 schedule. |
