SCOPE OF WORK IN THE FIELD OF EDUCATION

Within the framework of education reform programs in Serbia and Montenegro (1999-), Group MOST experts, trainers and facilitators were engaged by Ministry of Education (MoE) or other respective institutions in:
- consulting on democratization of education, as a members of the expert team
- preparation of syllabus and teachers? manual for the Civic Education optional subject, as a leading members of the expert team
- evaluating alternative education programs, as a member of the commission for accreditation
- needs assessments consulting, as a leading member of the project team
- project implementation strategic planning, as a periodic consultant
- team work and team building facilitation

EDUCATION REFORM IN MONTENEGRO PROJECT – INSTITUTE FOR EDUCATIONAL POLICY (IEP), OPEN SOCIETY INSTITUTE (OSI), BUDAPEST (1999-)

Within the framework of OSI/IEP program of support to education reform in Montenegro, Group MOST expert was engaged as consultant on needs assesments (including pulling together an analysis of the structure and status of the educational system and identifying, systematising and quantifying the maintenance needs) and project implementation strategy development.

EDUCATION REFORM IN SERBIA – MINISTRY OF EDUCATION AND SPORTS (MOES), REPUBLIC OF SERBIA (2000-)

Within the framework of the MoES education reform program, Group MOST experts, trainers and facilitators were engaged in realization of several projects:

- Project: Civic Education Program for Schools
Group MOST experts and trainers were engaged by MoES in: designing a program/syllabus and development of the teachers' manual for new Civic Education (CE) subject introduced in the first year of secondary school as an optional subject in 2001; designing the training of trainers and in-service teacher training program and packages; carrying out training of trainers seminar and in-service training of school teachers.

- Project: The Roundtable about Reform (RoR)
Group MOST experts were engaged by MoES in: designing the RoR program and implementation strategy aimed at obtaining the input from 6 main stakeholders in education (pupils, teachers, parents, school psychologists and pedagogues, school principals and the boards members), concerning their perspectives and requested needs related to four major reform issues (Curricula Reform; Teacher Training; Democratization of Education; Evaluation & Assessment); establishing and organizing the core project team (with a Group MOST expert as a head), designing and carrying out the two training of facilitators (total of 60) for the implementation of subsequent RORs (total of 85 RORs and 8500 teachers and other stakeholders); data collecting, processing and presentation.

- Project: "Our Role in Reform"
Group MOST expert has been engaged by MoES in designing and conducting the training of facilitators (total of 40) for implementation of the subsequent seminars aimed at informing the main stakeholders in education on the reform steps that are to be taken and the roles they could play in realization of this steps as well as in evaluation of the education reform process and outcomes.

- Project: Education Improvement – School Development Plan
Group MOST expert has been engaged by MoES as periodical consultant on development of the project team and implementation strategy and plan aiming to empower local school communities, and school principals and board members in particular, to take full responsibility for their schools development.
